Some interesting topics she expanded on are the importance of personal follow up with her subscribers and the importance of "influencer" relationships as they relate to your field. Ann described the reciprocity of shouting out the good works of others and how this friendship could benefit both parties.

In the article titled, "How 'strategic philanthropy' has harmed our sector, and why it refuses to die" Vu discusses the many ways the funders' attempt to be "strategic" has instead derailed the work of nonprofits. In the past, funders who used to give out general operating funds have now become restrictive and prescriptive. Funders are forcing nonprofits to change their strategies, with typically poor results. Vu also discusses some underlying racial and gender elements and the role of conditioning.
