In a world where things are uncertain and ever-changing, this discussion will explore the value of identity -- finding and embracing one’s authentic self, and empowering others to do the same.

Leveraging her intersectional identity as a Blind, Muslim, Arab-American woman to connect more deeply with others, Sara shares a new approach to inclusion. By accepting ourselves and others as we are, approaching one another with compassionate curiosity, and empowering ourselves and each other to reach our true potential, we can each bring our best and most authentic selves forward. Through what Sara calls Authentic Leadership and inclusion, we can each contribute to individual empowerment, more genuine interpersonal connections, and (ultimately) lasting systemic change.

With particular emphasis on inclusive and responsive leadership through Sara’s diverse lived experiences, we will delve deeper into what it means to shift perspective and build a more equitable workplace, and world, for all.

Sara Minkara, MPP
Sara Minkara is an internationally recognized champion for disability inclusion, individual empowerment and social enterprise, and the Founder and CEO of Sara Minkara LLC (“SMLLC”). Sara and her team at SMLLC promote Authentic LeadershipTM to drive strategic solutions through value-based inclusion. Prior to launching SMLLC, Sara founded the global nonprofit Empowerment Through Integration (ETI) while attending Wellesley College and continue to serve as their board member today. Sara established ETI to provide critical life skills training to children with disabilities in her parents’ native Lebanon, and served as its CEO for a decade. In addition to her endeavors through SMLLC and ETI, Sara is a featured speaker on behalf of the U.S. State Department, where she has participated in speaking tours in Asia and Africa on issues related to disability, empowerment of women and girls, and inclusion.
