Bailey Moon and Amelia Stuart-Dilley led an effort to raise over $13,864 from 132 donors for AIDS Walk Boston, an annual grassroots community event benefiting AIDS Action Committee of Massachusetts. AIDS Action's innovative programs and services are essential to maintaining the health of individuals living with AIDS and preventing the spread of the epidemic. As co-captains of their high school's AIDS Walk Boston team, the award recipients recruited 41 fellow students to their team, Artists Against Aids, and also educated these students about global efforts in the fight against HIV/AIDS. Bailey and Amelia were able to raise these funds through special events that creatively utilized their talents and skills. Bailey and Amelia have already pledged to raise $15,000 for their 2011 AIDS Walk Boston team!

Lexie Raczka has volunteered for serving Green Schools as Student Ambassador President for the past two years. In this capacity, she has completed over 100 hours of community service. Green Schools is a non-profit organization that creates greener and healthier learning environments in schools through education and awareness. In 2009, Lexie founded her school's environmental club, Green Earth Hornets. The club works on school-based issues that revolve around environmental issues. The club will soon be placing a greenhouse at Mansfield High School to be used for environmental education. This project required Lexie to make presentations to the school committee, town officials, a zoning committee, and school administration. The Green Schools Student Ambassadors were recently recognized by the Massachusetts State Government for their outstanding commitment to environmental stewardship. Lexie, as co-president of the Student Ambassadors, gave a presentation at the State House to government officials and administrators on the importance of sustainability and the impact that students can have on global and local issues.
