Women in Development of Greater Boston
The Brown Bag Committee Presents:
"Effective Meetings: How to Run Them"
Speaker: Cherry Muse, President, Public Conversations Project
Being a participant in a bad meeting of any kind is a nightmare whether it is a board, committee meeting, or
one-on-one with a donor. Well, stop losing sleep and come to hear what Cherry Muse has to say about running
effective meetings. President of the Public Conversations Project, a nonprofit that promotes dialogue among
those with differing values about divisive public issues, Cherry, an attorney by training, has years of experience working in the nonprofit world.
Each of Cherry’s positions has required that she meet the challenge of difficult meetings and conversations. Cherry entered nonprofit management at the Anti-Defamation League in Boston, where she worked closely with Leonard Zakim to extend ADL’s reach in New England beyond Metropolitan Boston. She then became Development Director of YouthBuild USA. In 2000, Cherry was recruited to lead The Wellness Community- Greater Boston, which provides programs free of charge for people who are living with cancer and their loved ones.
At Public Conversations, Cherry is currently working on initiatives to bridge the so-called red/blue divide in American politics. Surely such initiatives will call for very effective meetings.
Come and hear what Cherry has to say and then ask questions so you, too, can learn to run effective meetings.
