Developing and Managing Your Online Brand

October 25, 2011 - Program Summary

Susan Getgood, a marketer with a passion for connecting through social media, author of Professional Blogging for Dummies, and Vice President of Sales Marketing at BlogHer Inc., spoke to a lively group of WID members on October 25, 2011. Susan began her presentation with the eye-opening statistic that 65 per cent of online adults use social networking sites. Additionally, 69 million women use social media weekly, and that number goes up to 80 million on a monthly basis. Her message throughout was that "we learn what we need to accomplish our objective." In social media, we can and will learn to use social media networking sites to build our online brand once we realize the importance in doing so.

Susan concluded her presentation by walking the group though the benefits and highlights of social media sites such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and blogs for both personal and professional use. For more information on making the most of your online presence, view Susan's presentation to WID (PDF).
