The Program Committee Presents:
"It's All About the Donor"
Read the summary from this program
Speaker: Jan Lawlor, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund
This seminar focuses on practical approaches to providing world-class Donor Relations in today's
ever-changing fundraising landscape. Donor Relations staff and frontline fundraisers alike can participate
in a discussion spanning recognition writing, reporting, events, naming, and all the pieces of donor recognition
after a gift. Despite changes in economic climate or a campaign completion, the focus continues to center around
the donor.
As donors change, their giving changes. Organizations try to stay current and make an impact, just as the gift has.
This seminar will explore the many levels of recognition tailored to any size office and any size gift. Donor Relations
are the best way to maintain (and grow!) a pool of donors.
Jan Lawlor is the Assistant Vice President of Donor Relations and Development Marketing at Dana-Farber and the Jimmy Fund. She had an active role during the 2003-2010 Mission Possible $1 Billion campaign. Jan has attended many recognition events, named spaces, and is involved with stewardship plans. Acknowledgement letters, scientific reporting, honor rolls, and articles all make their way past Jan and her teams of donor relations and development marketing staff on a regular basis.
Jan's background in communications and Public Relations from her work at Brodeur Worldwide provided a knowledgebase for the many types of communication and interaction each and every donor receives from Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund.
