"Prospecting on a Budget: How to Find Big Leads at a Small Shop"

March 22, 2011 - Program Summary

David Sterling of Western New England College joined WID members and guests to talk about what David likes to refer to as: "Frugal Research." David began his presentation setting up the audience by categorizing donors. This warmed everyone up to cue into which donors Prospect Research should be focused on.

He defined prospect identification versus prospect research. David led the group through some of his preferred tools and resources including thoughts about when and how to make the most use of them. As promised, Prospecting on a Budget included a basic plan for prospect research tools to fit any budget.

David took some time to map out a peer-screening plan for the group. He also navigated stock holdings information. This often laborious process was broken-down into a simple roadmap to access the useful information quickly. Everyone left with a few more tools to increase productivity while staying in-budget.
