The Program Committee Presents:
"Prospecting on a Budget: How to Find Big Leads at a Small Shop"
Read the summary from this program
Speaker: David Sterling, Western New England College
No small shop can afford to spend time pursuing poorly qualified suspects; yet what small shop has the budget to hire the researchers and buy the tools needed to find and qualify suspects properly? It's a conundrum; and it's not only a problem for small shops. As staff is being asked to do more with less, frontline fundraisers in all kinds of shops are finding themselves frantically hunting for every scrap of free research they can find.
This BBL will show you how to do successful research even if you only have a limited budget. Attention especially will be paid to prospect identification, a key variable in the research process, and the speaker will explore various budget-decision options to help you achieve the best results for your organization.
David Sterling is the Director of Advancement Operations for Western New England College in Springfield, MA. Before joining WNEC in 2003, David served as Director of Research at the University of South Florida for seven years. Previously, he held management positions in the development offices of The George Washington University and Dartmouth College. David currently serves on the Board of Directors of the New England Development Research Association (NEDRA). He was a founding member of the Florida Chapter of the Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement (APRA-Florida) and served as the chapter's second president. He graduated from the University of Maine and the University of Rochester.
