Women in Development of Greater Boston

The Brown Bag Committee Presents:

"Listening Skills: A Cornerstone of Effective Fundraising"

Speaker: Cheryl Harris, Founder and Principal, Cheryl Harris and Associates, Inc.

Listening is one of the most important communication skills development professionals possess. Whether we’re speaking to a donor about his/her interests or are communicating with colleagues about the upcoming event, we spend a lot of time listening to others. Yet, simply hearing our co-workers and donors is not enough. We must have the skills to understand what it is that they are trying to communicate and find ways to make the most of every conversation we’re involved in. During this interactive program Cheryl Harris will help us define active listening, identify our listening styles, explore the primary barriers that impede effective listening, and develop strategies to overcome such obstacles.

Sign up today to learn a set of tools and techniques that you, as a listener, can use to become an excellent communicator and a more successful development professional.

Cheryl Harris is the Founder and Principal of Cheryl Harris and Associates, Inc.  Ms. Harris has more than 25 years of experience as a consultant, manager and a trainer.
