- What is the purpose of the Mentor Program?
To promote relationships and professional development within
the Development field.
- How do I apply?
Simply fill out a Mentor Program Application Form, then
mail or e-mail it with your resume to the address noted at the
bottom of the form.
- What types of assistance may be provided by Mentors through
the Mentor Program?
Whatever is of concern to the Mentee in agreement with the
Mentor and specifically stated in the Mentor-Mentee agreement.
Some examples are listed on the application form.
- How many Mentees can a Mentor have?
One under agreement at a time.
- What must a Mentor-Mentee agreement include?
Term; Methods of support: telephone, e-mail, fax, personal
meetings; Time commitment: hours/month; Content (specify): fundraising
events, appeals, proposal-writing, etc.
- Is there a minimum term for a Mentor-Mentee agreement?
3 months
- Is there a maximum term for a Mentor-Mentee agreement?
6 months
- Who approves a Mentor-Mentee agreement and how is it approved?
The Mentor Program Chair will sign off when an assigned Mentor
and Mentee reach an agreement.
- How will WID evaluate a Mentor-Mentee relationship?
By feedback from: (1) a 30-day check-in and (2) evaluation
forms completed by both the Mentor and Mentee at the expiration
of the term.
- Who will serve as Mentors in the WID Mentor Program and
how can I contact them?
A database of Mentor candidates is maintained the WIDGB
office. Matches are made based on area of interest. Contact
information will be provided within 30 days of receipt of a
Mentor Program Application Form.
- What do I do if my Mentor-Mentee relationship is not working?
