Women in Development of Greater Boston

The Program Committee Presents:

"The Fundamentals of Planned Giving"

Keynote Speaker: Mary Moran, JD

In the first event of WID's 2008 – 2009 program year, Mary Moran will give an introductory talk on the basics of planned giving. The purpose is to demystify a topic that sometimes, due to the overuse of financial and tax jargon, can seem rather intimidating. If you were ever curious about pursuing a career in planned giving but were afraid to ask, then this is an event that you don't want to miss! This program is intended to be a "prequel" to the Planned Giving Group of New England's Basics series, which begins in October. If you enjoy this overview of planned giving, you might consider attending the popular PGGNE series, which fills up early.

Mary Moran has 17 years experience in the planned giving field. A graduate of Georgetown Law, she practiced law for several years representing numerous individual and non-profit clients in a wide variety of estate planning and planned giving matters. More recently she was the Director of Planned Giving at the College of the Holy Cross (1996 to 2001) and Director of Planned Giving and Endowment at WGBH Educational Foundation (2001 to July, 2008). She has served on the boards of YWCA of Central Massachusetts, Worcester Hope Lodge, PGGNE and Leave of Legacy® of Central Massachusetts.
