Women in Development: Celebrating A Quarter Century

The Brown Bag Committee Presents:

"Sharing Latest Trends and Best Practices in Direct Marketing"

Speakers: Janice Flammia, Senior Vice President, Vital Data Management; Heidi Ganss Harris, Director of Development, Alzheimer's Association, Massachusetts Chapter; Charlotte Mikk, Director of Membership, Institute of Contemporary Art

Are you looking to increase your donor base or expand overall membership? Come join this interactive session and learn about current trends and best practices in direct marketing in the non-profit sector.  This Brown Bag will start off with a panel discussion and open up to a Question & Answer forum. Participants are encouraged to e-mail questions beforehand to questions@widgb.org and help ensure the presenters address the audience’s interests and needs. After the Q&A, participants will be welcomed to join roundtable discussions and share samples, successes and challenges. Sharing knowledge and ideas are the keys to direct marketing success. Don’t miss out on this invaluable opportunity!

Janice Flammia brings 20 years of nonprofit management experience, with an emphasis on development and marketing communications. At Vital Data Management, she works with a wide range of nonprofit clients to help them increase annual giving through strategic direct mail programs. Prior to joining VDM in 1999, Ms. Flammia was the Director of Development of the Crime and Justice Foundation in Boston. Her experience also includes more than a decade of raising funds and building audiences for emerging performing arts organizations.

Heidi Ganss Harris is Director of Development at the Alzheimer's Association, Massachusetts Chapter where she is responsible for overseeing all aspects of a comprehensive development program, including direct mail. Ms. Ganss Harris has fourteen years of experience in development and previously held positions at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Brandeis University. She is a member of the Board of Directors of Women in Development of Greater Boston.

Charlotte Mikk joined the ICA in August 2005 as Director of Membership and oversees the development and implementation of the museum's annual membership and annual fund programs. She brings eight years of experience in the museum field, including six in development with a focus on corporate and individual giving programs. Ms. Mikk has worked at some of the nation's leading arts institutions including MoMA, SFMOMA, the Whitney and the National Gallery of Art.
