Women in Development: Celebrating A Quarter Century

The Dialogue Committee Presents:

"Stewardship Strategies - Guiding Annual Donors Towards Leadership Gifts"

This event is sold out.

Speakers: Megan Nickels Abbett, Director of Donor Relations, Simmons College; Michaela Masi, Director of The Simmons Fund, Simmons College; Laura Brink, Associate Director of The Simmons Fund, Simmons College

Your calendar year end campaigns worked, the checks are coming in...  Now that your donors have given, how do you find the time to steward them in an effective way that encourages them to renew and increase their support? Join us on February 28 and learn the nuts and bolts of stewarding your annual donors through their philanthropic journey at your organization.

This fun and interactive program will address…

  • Communication strategies aimed at increasing interest in your organization;
  • How to effectively use donor events to engage your prospects;
  • How to work with major gift officers as you move your prospects through the pipeline; and
  • How to be creative with funding opportunities to help annual donors become leadership donors.

Sign-up now and get the opportunity to examine your own program while gaining exposure to ideas that have been successful at other organizations.

Megan Nickels Abbett is the Director of Donor Relations at Simmons College. Her previous work as the Director of the Annual Fund at Simmons and her work as a Major Gifts Officer at Facing History and Ourselves and her alma mater, Boston College, uniquely prepared her to start the donor relations department at Simmons. This five-person team provides high-level programs, communications, and events designed to foster a rewarding and meaningful experience between current and prospective donors and Simmons College.

Michaela Masi is entering her fifth year as the Director of The Simmons Fund at Simmons College. In her role as director, Michaela oversees a team of six annual fund professionals focused on raising unrestricted monies and increasing alumnae participation rates. The team manages all aspects of the College’s annual fund, leveraging vehicles such as the leadership giving, reunion giving, and direct mail programs to build a stronger culture of philanthropy at Simmons.

Laura Brink has been with Simmons College for 18 months and works exclusively with the 1899 Society (the leadership giving society at the College). Laura's primary focus is on field work, identifying and cultivating lead donors for The Simmons Fund as well as the Office of Major Gifts, stewarding leadership donors and creating collaborations within the Advancement Division. Laura's background is in annual funds and college admission.
