Name: Project: Think Different

Mission:

PTD uses pop culture to increase the power of unheard voices in civic dialogue and policy formation to ensure equity and fairness for all. PTD furthers its mission by providing disenfranchised people venues for message creation, amplification, and engagement in action. By enabling people to think differently about their power to create change, PTD transforms individuals, communities and society at large.

Achievements:

Empowerment Records release, Youth Urban Update, Active Arts Youth Conference, Justice for Janitors PSA, World Life: A Conference on Hip Hop and Faith
Programs & Services: PTD's programs provide incentives and training that support artists and grassroots message makers to create socially responsible popular messages while providing content and forums that inspire the broader public and involve them in action for change.
Annual Budget: Start-up
Staff: 1 full-time; 5 volunteers; 1 part-time fundraising; 3 fundraising volunteers
Board Size: Five, with four committees: Fundraising/Development, Programs, Infrastructures, and Internal/External Relations
Fundraising: Proposals to local and national foundations, individual solicitations, events, targeted mail campaigns, fee for service contract, in-kind donations; PTD's donor base is ethnically and socio-economically diverse
Fundraising Challenges: PTD is a young organization that needs to capitalize on the interest, enthusiasm, and momentum garnered from constituents and supporters.
Consultant Needs: PTD would best be served by a consultant with grant writing experience who can also provide advice on the identification and cultivation of individual donors.
